I Am An Adult Now, Mom.

by Kat   Dec 18, 2020

I am an adult now, mom..
But this is still really hard.
I may have children of my own,
But I guess you being around often is not in the cards.

I should not have to choose between you and others.
I should not walk on egg shells about you or my brother.
I should not feel pressure to always please you.
I am 26 and still am worried about the wrong I may do.

I am about to have my second child,
but to be beside me was too much to ask.
As soon as I texted you,
"I dont want to be around your step mom and dad."

I thought when I got older it would be easier to bear.
But, I guess you never realized you had more than children now to share.
