One Step at a Time

by Walter   Jan 6, 2021

Sometimes in life you'll reach a huge hill
Don't let yourself be put off by the climb
Just take little steps and have a strong will
And enjoy the views though it might take some time

Make sure you rest and stop along the way
As there are so many things to observe
There's no rush with how long that you stay
And reward yourself with what you deserve

Soon you'll be ready and want to move on
And each time a little more you might try
When looking down at how far you have gone
You will soon start feeling like you can fly

As you keep climbing, it's no longer a chore
And you're finally starting to see the top
Now you're determined and want so much more
That no longer so often you'll stop

And what a reward when you reach there
Though not forgetting how hard it first felt
Just think how this hill and your life might compare
With facing all the problems that you're dealt

So just as with life you still need to pause
When you feel something is bringing you down
As soon as you realise this is because
You have to stop to enjoy what's around

You are absolutely right, Walter. Yes, it's important to have a destination, but we are missing out if we don't enjoy the journey. Stop take a breath, have a cuppa and make some memories.

Thank you Mr. Darcy and yes...any excuse for a cuppa is a good one!
