Dear Future Lover

by Guilty By Design   Feb 18, 2021

Someday I’ll brush the hair off your face
And you’ll pick an eyelash off my cheek
Please don’t ask me to make a wish
I’ll have everything I need if you’re with me.

Someday I will pull you in close
And you’ll lay your head on my chest
Please don’t worry if my heart skips
I won’t be able to help it if you’re with me.

Someday I’ll lean in for a kiss
And you’ll wonder if this is real
Please don’t you ever have a doubt
I’ll be more than certain if you’re with me.

Someday I’ll get down on one knee
And you’ll ask yourself “how lucky am I?”
Please don’t ever let yourself forget
I’ll be the lucky one if you’re with me.

Writing to your one true love ahead of time is a lovely idea. It keeps the heart and mind focussed on 'when' rather than 'if' your love will find you. A recipe for success Milly x

I like the idea of this poem, writing to a lover you've yet to meet. Though, this is no normal love encounter, it is the perfect love. A love reciprocated and unconditional.

Best of luck for your future.
