Borrowed Time

by Acacia   Feb 21, 2021

Morning has broken
There's no afternoon
Or evening
I have escaped time
But I wish
It would find me again

It has a smell of its own,
Time.

Like a familiar room
When it's no longer your own
You crave it
And you hunger for it
You realize you'd do anything
To just have it back
Until it's yours again
You steal seconds
And gobble up misused minutes
Sticking them all together
To make a delicate chain
Of borrowed time
Hoping it will stretch
Hoping it will be long enough
To reach the next page

If there is a next page

What an excellent take on time! It has a mood of its own and a character we respect and in it learn many a lesson. Well penned!
