"I Don't Think It's A Good Idea"

by Walter   Mar 21, 2021

Don't let anyone tell you what it is that you can do
Don't let people mold you, with their point of view
If you want advice then, you can always ask
By someone who has also, completed the same task

Everyone's an expert and they will tell you so
I love how they talk about, something they don't know
And they're so quick to point out, that it's a bad idea
Even though their own advice, they would not adhere

Whatever is your passion, you should be allowed to yearn
And if you fail, it becomes, something that you learn
There's nothing wrong with having, your aspiration high
Or achievements will be naught, if at first you never try

I once had great advice, from someone who was old
He regretted listening, to all that he was told
By the time that he learnt, they were all just lies
A life he now regrets, as he's too old to revise

Remember as a child, when all you did was dream
Although becoming older, you lost all self-esteem
Because whenever you would ask, the answer would deny
But I'd rather live a life, where I did my best to try

We learn by asking, trying and repeating. Learning from those who know, or you admire is certainly a good start. Nice poem, Walter with a great message.

Thanks very much for your comment Mr. Darcy and yes, I don't think we should ever give up with living our dream or you'll never know where the path might take you.
