I leave words for you
structured in verse and rhythm
thinking you remember how to

find them in the places

we once called home.
Where we met, and loved,
laughed and left each other
for better things (or days).

I leave words for you
everywhere we've ever been
hoping you'll know what to do

if you hold breadcrumbs
in your weathered leather hands -

maybe you'll write
a response and I'll know
you're at least okay...
