When Life's Not Fair

by Walter   Jun 6, 2021

It's not worth getting mad
When things might go wrong
Because this is just life
And has been for so long

When it doesn't seem fair
And you just complain
You feel like a passenger
Stuck riding this train

But when in this mindset
You forget all the great
That life also offers
While feeling this hate

Sometimes we are selfish
And always want more
We forget to be thankful
But choose to ignore

Then turn a blind eye
To the rest of this Earth
Since we're only concerned
With our own self-worth

Becoming complacent
Where we just demand
Yet not ever offering
Our own helping hand

Most of us are lucky
But we're just a few
Compared to all life
Still waiting in queue

And I can't imagine
If I were to trade
With one of four billion
Third world and no aid

And whenever I feel
It's hard and I strive
Instead now I'm grateful
For just being alive
