This Is Life

by Walter   Jun 30, 2021

The first road crossed and a start
With life's journey I embark
I want to learn though I am young
The taste of life is on my tongue

Growing older I go to school
And start to learn of all life rules
This continues as a teen
Although high school is now the scene

Friends are made along the way
And are still now to this day
But soon life will rearrange
When love's first found and exchanged

Graduation and a car
University feels bizarre
Now an adult on life's path
As I've learnt to cry and laugh

The first time which my heart feels pain
When love no longer shares this lane
And forced to learn when you see
That some things are not meant to be

But life goes on, this is a rule
The learning curve which seems so cruel
When sometimes there, is no cure
Or how much that you can endure

And it takes time, to adjust
Though one day you'll learn to trust
When someone else will catch your eye
While all the others just walk by

Then everything will fall in place
And no more feel like a race
A job, a house, a love, a wife
I appreciate...that this is life
