Awakening - Sonnet

by Walter   Dec 10, 2021

If you were a season then you'll be spring
Because you always remind me of love
Your beautiful voice of nature would sing
Where in the blue sky you'll fly up above

And I still hear you although you are gone
In many ways I can sense you're close by
Your love of nature which now I am drawn
To feel your presence which I can't deny

But I am no fool and spring will soon pass
For you other seasons are just too bland
Suddenly you'll feel right out of your class
No longer within the reach of my hand

The seasons will cry and then also burn
But always I wait for you to return

    I adore this.

The rhyme and flow is fantastic. A lot of longing and love and remembrance. Wonderful.
