If Life Were

by William Mae   Jan 8, 2022

If life were as simple as puppies and kittens,
Where they play among clover all day,
A mind wouldn’t wander to steamy encounters,
And the heartbeats of lovers at play.

If life were as simple as puppies and kittens,
Chasing yarn as it slowly unwinds,
A mind wouldn’t conjure up sighs in the evening,
Or the nectar of lovers fine wine

If life were as simple as puppies and kittens,
Laying quiet by a fireplace in sleep,
There wouldn’t be nights of lonely desire,
And dreams of wants and of needs.

If life were as simple as puppies and kittens,
Whose worries are but water and bread,
There wouldn’t be sweat filled nights making love,
Until both of their needs had been fed.

If life were as simple as puppies and kittens,
Who are happy with only a toy,
There wouldn’t be moans mid grinding motions,
From muscles trembling with joy.

If life were as simple as puppies and kittens,
Of meows mixing in barks,
There wouldn’t be nights where two become one,
Or breathless orgasmic filled sparks.

If life were as simple as puppies and kittens,
And as happy after both have been fed,
You wouldn’t have adults loving each moment,
They have together in bed.
