Irreversible - Sonnet

by Walter   Mar 22, 2022

As I stare across all, the distant land
From our memories, we made in the past
And our footprints leaving, marks in the sand
Where I always once thought, that they would last

But love like the weather, isn't always clear
And a storm front, sometimes you can't avoid
Where seasons are cycles, love must endear
And within these, some things will be destroyed

In the eye of our storm, which we both face
Where our future now, also seems in doubt
As there are some things, that love can't erase
And not even all our storms, would wear out

When now we look back, we won't see the sun
Even when storms clear, the damage is done
