COLORS

by Wayne Gates   Apr 28, 2022

When I feel dark inside
I wear black to hide
Hoping no one will stare
And see the cross that I bear

Hawaiian shirts I'll wear
As a means to declare
Notice me, I have arrived
And it's good to be alive

Green is the color I seek
When my mood feels weak
Immersed in meadows and fields
Is how my psyche heals

Colors we choose to wear
Are the way we can share
A method used to display
How we are feeling today
