These Eyes

by Golden AnGel Rhapsodist   Feb 10, 2023

These eyes hold more than any tears, coz I cried beside who needs my help.

These eyes hold more than anyone fear, more than anyone sad stories,
Coz these eyes looked at you while you are narrating your now and your history..

And now these eyes, vanished the glow and even its radiance.
Those left my eyes, my soul, and my own in an instance.

Now I'm in total darkness, before I uttered

Save Me!!!!

Too late for these eyes to look back at me,
Because its blinded, it's in pain, its burning continuously.

When I tried once more I saw a form of lightning proceeding towards me.

It was the last light that my eyes ever witnessed.

It struck me where I kept everything,

Where I keep you

It has surely hit there, it hits my heart...

And it died....????????????

    Hello, Gel

I hope you are well. This is a hard hitting poem for sure and it is all in and the eyes!

I liked the rhyme, especially the internal rhyme, like finding honeycomb amongst a dessert. :) The 'save me!!!"' and '...it died...????' really punches and left me rocked back on my heels.

    Well done on this. x
