When emotions are held deep
And it makes you feel so low
That you don't want to face the truth
It's time to let her go

No matter how hard you search
For something that she'll owe
Love never works like this
It's time to let her go

Nor can you use the past
With memories long ago
Love will always have two sides
It's time to let her go

It doesn't matter that you say
She's everything you know
When you find out they're all lies
It's time to let her go

When you hold her in your heart
Although she doesn't show
When she's replaced with loneliness
It's time to let her go

When you still leave your outdoor light
Switched on so it will glow
When bulbs burn out before your love
It's time to let her go

When your door knocks you hold high hopes
But it's never her hello
And if held open for just her
It's time to let her go
