At Last

by Walter   Apr 28, 2023

When you might fail, you shouldn't complain
Or feel forced to try, to do it again
There are no rules, which say you must win
Or to expect that, before you begin

Nor to look down, if you don't succeed
And why should winning, become such a need?
When you make mistakes, I think you learn more
To not look at life, like it is a score

Winning is great, but there's only one
It should not be the reason, to feeling outdone
As long as you tried, to run very fast
It doesn't matter, if you should come last

I think the race, should be against you
Where you'll be the judge, how well that you do
Where you mightn't win, but you beat your own score
And a victory, you shouldn't ignore

Whenever you strive and not just to race
Just don't be obsessed with setting the pace
Make life your challenge and not to be first
And where ever you finish...it's never your worst
