The Soul of my Shoes

by Walter   Jun 14, 2023

Imagine if you were a shoe
How do you think that you would do?
When tied to somebodies feet
And walking down every street

I guess sometimes you would feel low
As you're always down below
And at times you would repel
Because some feet can really smell

You also have to be a pair
And follow each other everywhere
As ignoring a partnership
Might just lead a foot to trip

Then of course there are shoelaces
Which will only bring you places
When they are tied in knots
Or you'll find you're falling lots

There's only one famous print
When man would race to try this stint
That's one small step for (a) man will make
But a lot of us will think it's fake

Most the time we're treated rough
And often we will need to buff
When sometimes man will decide
To show off our polished side

Women most likely own a stack
But keep them hidden on a rack
And once a year then they might
Ever see the day of light

Shoes might have a lot of downs
As all of the above will sound
But I'm still proud of my pair
That have taken me everywhere

Even though they are just bland
Not even a famous brand
I'm proud of them for what they've done
Whenever I walk or jump or run
