Elementary Climate Crisis

by cassie hughes   Jun 16, 2023

Forests weep as blazing branches distort and writhe
Reaching out as if to tear the rain from cloud free skies.

Turquoise icebergs melt in ever warming seas
Calving ever smaller with each rise in the degrees

The force of nature changing to adapt and survive
Brings artistry unseen before to human eyes

Diqui dies a little with each catastrophic act
Yet mankind shakes collective head refusing to react.

Such idiocy set side may just reverse the tide
Pandoras chest be bolted, all disasters locked inside.

Patience should not authorise this ruin and decay
Time for restitution, iron will must forge the way

Before resource all wasted and creation nonextant
Remember there is nowhere else to which we can transplant.
