Shattered

by Dino Dhamphyr   Sep 28, 2023

It never gets old, this haunting refrain,
In the quiet of my mind, you still remain.
A love story etched in memories' hue,
As I ponder a past that forever feels true.

In the depths of my heart, your grip's so tight,
Like a spell cast on me through endless night.
I throw a Hail Mary to forget your face,
But you're the world of darkness I can't erase.

Amidst city lights, lost in your embrace,
I recall our moments, in shadow's tender grace.
"Is it wrong," I ask the stars above,
"To hold onto a love, a fading star, my love?"

With someone new, still trapped in your dance,
In my heart's embrace, you're my eternal romance.
"I am lost without you," my whispered plea,
But I am not myself when you're gone, you see.

And as our love shattered like glass on concrete,
A broken heart, a broken bond, an endless defeat.
A mosaic of memories, sharp shards of the past,
In this fractured love, we were never meant to last.

Amidst these emotions, a tempestuous sea,
You, the tempest, the calm, and the key.
In this symphony of love, pain's artful play,
I seek the strength to find my way.

It never gets old, this love's sweet sorrow,
As I navigate a new dawn, a brighter tomorrow.
For in the pain, I'll find my way,
To love again another day.
