Help Me, Lord

Help me, O Lord, I implore,
To quell the demon at my core.

In life's trials, it lies in wait,
Until awakened by cruel fate.
The virtuous man can turn astray,
But with Your help, we'll find the way.

The words of Jesus, pure and clear,
Resonate within, calming fear.
No one is wholly good, we find,
Yet through Your grace, we're redefined.

Surrendering to You, we see,
Our lives, our thoughts, our will set free.
Captive to God, imaginations wild,
Help me, O Lord, to be reconciled.

Guide me when storms my spirit shake,
Keep me from judgment's rash mistake.
Help me refrain from taking command,
Awakening demons, dark and grand.

In every soul, good, bad, and stark,
Your love can mold, create a spark.
Accepting You as Savior and guide,
The inner demons fade and hide.

As long as hearts with empathy swell,
With honesty and integrity to quell,
Help me, O Lord, in life's grand scheme,
To stay close to You, in every dream.

Grant me the strength to endure each strife,
To count my days and seek wisdom rife.
When all is said and battles are fought,
May I say, "I've kept the faith, as I ought.
