Left Out

by Dawn   Jun 25, 2026

I don't think I'm enough.
Not for you.
Not for me.
Not for them.
I'm never the first thought,
Always the second choice.
An after thought.
I stand and watch as they go to you first.
And they cry when it's my turn.
They run to you first,
As I stand with open arms.
They shine when talking to you,
And ignore my conversations.
They always talk about you,
But never ask about me.
They always play with you,
And whine when I try.
They always want you,
And cry when I want them.
You force them to spend time with me,
Which hurts me as that's the only way.
I just want to be included.
To be loved the way they love you.
I give them every part of me,
But I'm never enough.
Always left out.

Hi! I really enjoyed reading your poetry. Your words create such strong emotions, but I felt they could become even more powerful with visuals.

I’m a freelance artist with 3 years of experience, and I can turn the feelings and imagery in your poems into illustrations so readers can actually see the words come to life. We could even start with one poem or a few stanzas as a small project.

I’d also love to share a few ideas on how visuals could help you reach a wider audience and create another way to benefit from your poetry.
