The Bureaucracy of Life

by Walter   Aug 5, 2026

I often dream about a former time
When life was not as cruel as today
When I was a child and the world was mine
And all our problems were so far away

Barefoot with friends on our bikes we would ride
Wearing no helmets or pads to protect
We would come home wearing only our pride
A lesson you'd only learn from respect

And we would survive while forming this bond
All our adventures were out in the wild
Now I just smile with memories so fond
Of the happiness when I was a child

But battles now faced are all in our heads
With invisible enemies instead
