The Perfectionism Trap

by Walter   Aug 13, 2026

A stepping stone that's not made to tread on
It's just imaginary where it lies
But here in my mind is where I am drawn
Although it has taken so many tries

When people say take one step at a time
And you'll find a path that will lead you there
I'm seeing hills that are too high to climb
The stones are jagged and make me beware

Walking cautiously ends up in circles
Because I am still here where I began
My thoughts become exhausted by hurdles
Although around me is just barren land

Maybe the journey to you might seem clear
I just see detours and always end here...

Hi! I really enjoyed reading your poetry. Your words create such strong emotions, but I felt they could become even more powerful with visuals.

I’m a freelance artist with 3 years of experience, and I can turn the feelings and imagery in your poems into illustrations so readers can actually see the words come to life. We could even start with one poem or a few stanzas as a small project.

I’d also love to share a few ideas on how visuals could help you reach a wider audience and create another way to benefit from your poetry.
