Fishermen standing upon the waters edge.
Some on the grass, some on a ledge
Silent they stand, Some sit and wait
Patently, for their prize to take the bait.
Meanwhile, children are chasing the pigeons
As their mothers laugh, free of their kitchens
Another mother threatens her son with a nasty man
Because he cries for her to carry his bike, just because he can.
And I sit here calmly and speak to my queen
As I gaze upon the water and all that can be seen
The ducks, the fountain, all so near
The gushing of its water is the sound here.
Well, also from the birds singing in trees
And the slight sound of leaves rustling in the breeze
Newsham park, my place of peace and calm
At one with mother nature and safe from harm.
