That night

by Jacqui Armstrong   Aug 21, 2004

There is a break in the waves,
That shows a deep sea of graves.
Replayed is the night that young lad died,
Now you hear each word he cried.

Take me from this meaningless place,
Remove me from here without a trace.
Take me away from this hell,
And on that note down he fell.

The world flashed past him ever so fast,
Away from this trouble this pain at last.
As each rock he hit removed a scar,
He has not yet fallen far,

Down he goes no longer head first,
Slowly each memory he now cursed.
The pain the torment and the dreams,
The loss the grief and all the screams.

As he hits the water a silent splash,
Which is followed by a louder smash.
His girlfriend sees him hit the sea,
She falls down hard upon her knee,

Don’t leave me here all alone,
This world tormented and overgrown.
A tear falls slowly to the ground,
As people begin to gather around.

The search boat is sent out to sea,
This lads life is no longer to be.
He took it away for reasons unknown,
There are many bruises to be shown.
