Finally dead

by Kaitlyn   Sep 2, 2004

I cry each night
And try to live
But I know one day
I’ll have to give

Each drop of blood
Each painful slice
I get confused
And grab the dice

One to do it
Two to try
Three to get help
Four to die

Five to stop
Six to not
I roll the dice..
A two I got

I seize the knife
And start to slash
A little deeper
Blood starts to gash

I feel the pain
But do not cry
The blades too dull
But still I try

I cut the lifeline
And blood runs red
The pain will end
I’ll soon be dead

It takes too long
I haven’t won
Still wanting to die
I reach for the gun

One single bullet
Seems so fast
I’m finally dead
With one lonely blast

yeah, thanks, I actually did intend to have it end quickly like that. The first few of my poems I entered aren't exactly the best ones, but thanks for your comment, I appreciate it. :)

Im really like the structure of your poem whether intentional or not.
It seems to make the emotion last a bit longer as though you were coming to a slow end and then it picks up with the final lines and ended suddenly at the end with the lines about the Gun.... Great Poem
