First Kiss

Today I took a leap of faith
And put my heart on the line.
I felt my knees grow weak
And my heart fill with butterflies.
You just stood there patiently
As I confessed my feelings for you.
My voice became shaky.
I was afraid of what you might do.
You stared into my eyes
For what seemed like forever and a day.
What you did next I did not expect.
You completely blew me away.
Reaching for my hand
You made our fingers intertwine,and said
"The spaces in between your fingers
Were meant to be filled with mine"
You leaned in to kiss me
As a silent tear fell from my eyes.
I didn't need to say a word,
For you already knew the reason why.
My heart started beating faster
As your lips met mine.
Never have I been so happy.
Forever floating on cloud nine.
Today I took a leap of faith
And silently gave my heart away.
My knees still go weak whenever you come near.
But this time I have someone to catch me
And I no longer love in fear.
