Dagon's Breath

Marching to what is surely my death,
As I show no sign of fear.
I, a gallant knight
Am sure my death is near.

Townspeople cower behind me,
Eager to see the show.
I, a gallant knight
Am sure my death is near, I just know.

Shouting into the cave
Into the dark of night.
I, a gallant knight
Am sure that I must do this right.

I see the cave light up
With a brilliant mass of flame
I, a gallant knight,
Call out this horrid beast's name.

I feel a massive claw
Hit the rock ground as the earth shakes,
I, a gallant knight,
See the ripples in the nearby lakes.

I know my death is near,
As the dragon comes into sight.
I, a gallant knight
Feel fear as it takes flight.

All the townspeople flee,
But the dragon eats them all,
I, a gallant knight
Will be the last one left to fall.

Now turning his head to me,
As he shoots out his flame,
I, a gallant knight
Hear him laugh at this game.

I unsheathe an arrow,
As he gets ready to strike,
I, a gallant knight
Let my arrow go with all my might.

My arrow flies strait and true,
As it goes into his chest,
I, a gallant knight
Knew that was my best.

The arrow bounces off his great armour,
As he laughs with glee
I, a gallant knight,
Know that it's over for me.

He lands now on top of me,
Pinning me down with his claw,
I, a gallant knight,
Realized my flaw.

Now all I feel is heat,
And all I hear is his laugh,
I a gallant knight,
Am now empalled with his claw of a staff.
