Broadway fame and fortune

by SCARECROW   Oct 17, 2004

It's about someone who was first human, and ordinary, until fame and money went to their head.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Daylight fades, as the light surrenders to the darkness.
The sky, once lit by the eternal light
is dying.
The sunset mercilessly taints the heavens
with the darkest hues of crimson.
You have become so decadent,
giving into blood-lust and power.
You do not see that the days go by gladly
without you,
so narcissistic you are.
Your true worth fades like that sunlight,
so powerful that it is weak
for you so unknowingly wilt away.
I see nothing more than extravagance
as does the world before you
for as you see, no-one cries for you
but yourself.
    Great poem. I do think that you can work with the structure a little to make for easier reading. Keep it up.
    I love this. I love that you took a commonly heard thing and wrote it in such an in depth and horrific way that one might think was capable for such a subject.
    You really portray the abandonement of innocense and development of evil desire throughout the piece, and therefor the diminishement of true care and love for the person.
    Excellent job, beautiful words and spectacular metaphors/imagery, lovely.
    You have a characteristic way of writing that is for sure. The dimensions of your writing is precisely on target. They Drip with enthusiasm and seem to have a great deal of calculation into each word. The apprehension you paint in your poems is perfect. I can see the Scene in my mind though i am not there.
