Blood and Silver Wings.

by Daphne Darling   Nov 5, 2004

Standing in the shadows, ice encrusted sliver wings,
Hide me from thy own creed, encircled in hatred and greed,
Red coated silk sheets of innocence, entrusted in lies,
Salt and scarlet waters running from fountains fresh,
Lost on the desolate plains of immortal hatred,
If I die tonight send me off with your love,
And remember that I always hated what I had become,
Rain shall now fall upon this shadowed life,
In the darkness, push me further away from you,
Time is running short for you and me and them,
When it all turns to mud run for the red flows,
Hold close to the insanity of all of this pain,
Watch as the minority turns to the majority,
Parents run and hide when things change,
Nothing can go fully your way, never,
Forgetting our daily needs and cares in the rush,
Hating this as we fall to the skies of sorrow,
One minded drones of the T.V's news,
Shower me in threats; shatter my very will,
Bring me back down to the size I need be,
Betray me blindly, follow me soundly,
Grope my presence, fondle my absence,
Irrational thoughts of happily followed lies,
Get on the last train home, confrontational truths,
Shatter me blindly, repair me soundlessly,
Show me the lifeless lies shattered on stone,
Gone on show, put me up for auction,
Block out my shattered cries for sanity,
Shove me to the side in your daily duties,
Numb and alone, on the surface we shine,
With these beats drumming ever on wards,
I could never hear your shouts for more,
I lost my pride; you gained your sanctuary,
I fell from the points of this very despair,
Swing around; show me how to dance the waltz,
Swing me in the turns, numb all of the feelings,
Stand me in the shadows way out of all sight,
Colour my wings silver, coat them in ice,
Set upon me thy own creed of hatred and greed,
Circle me in your lies of sanctuary and love,
Coat the sheets in the crimson liquid from my veins,
Entrust your lies in the folds of this sanity.
