In The Sands Of Time

by Victoria   Nov 11, 2004

Behind a locked door is where I lay
In a vault of grandness where my many treasures accompany me
The dust has settled for countless years now
The humid air left undisturbed for many centuries
The torches that once shown bright
Has given way to the perpetual darkness
In this darkness many secrets rest hidden from view
Ancient words have been scribed around the four walls
They tell of a life that once lived in an ancient land
A life that is still scratching to be released from its eternal vault
To long have a laid in this muggy tomb
Watching the rats gnaw at my only possessions
I should have had my cat buried with me
Time has little meaning when you have been locked away from sight for so long
The air around you becomes heavy and has a strange yet familiar taste
One day they will unearth where I lay and feel the atmosphere of this tomb that I have took to my death
The curses scribed on the walls to keep robbers out will be as fresh as when they were cast
As nobody can forget an ancient past

    you describe things wonderfully.
    when you describe something
    I can see it clearly.
    love you,
