How Many Words Is This Picture Worth?

by Sarah   Nov 18, 2004

§A Girl Went To Take On Life, And Got Lost In The Rush§

She found her heart in fields of daffodils caressed by the wind,
She lost herself in celestial forests with no end.
She dropped herself in sanctuaries of happiness,
In her dreams, so silent was her bliss.
She loved dewy mornings in the summer,
And the song of hope, the thunder.
The joy of life lied in her eyes
She never knew a lie.

But the days go by as she stares out her window,
At a vision blurred by unclear sorrow.
How many words is this picture worth,
How many times will she fall before she's hurt.
All her sanity seems to be at its end,
She's coming to the edge.
Will those fields still blow,
Those red roses glow,
And her dreams still have soul.
Will the thunder sing its song,
When it's all gone.
Will she still be there when she's somewhere,
And will you find her when she's nowhere.

If confusion could stop time,
I wouldn't be wasting my life..

this is a beautiful piece. I'll tell you the truth, the second stance wasn't near as beautiful as the first, but the first stance was absolutly lovely.
"the song of life, the thunder"
I love the symbolism in that line, and some of your words of comparison and imagery left me with a picture fo beauty. good job

Hey Sarah, your comments make me smile. Thanks, always.

I read this poem over again and tried to see it in a different light. Umm... If it's the same kind of 'light' I wrote 'architect' in, then it's very subtle.

In answer to your question, well, 'architect' is written about a girl a bit like the girl in this poem I just posted, 'Unspilt'. Actually, I'm wodering if I will soon regret posting it because it's terribly... But now I'm rambling, aren't I? lol

All the same, I'd love you to tell me what you think of it. :)

Agreed; beautiful wording. Very prosy in parts but not unbearably so, and some EXCELLENT lines in here.

Will she still be there when she's somewhere,
And will you find her when she's nowhere.

    Very thought-provoking, well done.
