Degraded

by Unseen Exposure   Dec 9, 2004

My distant stare is vacant
I've lost all hopes and dreams
Warped and thoughtless motions
Blacked out by deadly screams

A suicidal tendency
Beneath a deadened heart
My mind is so consumed
And light's replaced by dark

My room is full of wishes
And the words I never said
The tears that struggled down
For the blood that I have bled

The hatred and the sorrow
No one understands
To see the brink of failure
With a chest that won't expand

To shove massive amounts of pills
One and then another
Hiding behind depression
Behind a mask for cover

To know that no one sees you
To know that they don't care
About the fact that soon
You will no longer be there

Too many cold shoulders
Left out in the dust
Perhaps there's love somewhere
But right now, it's only lust

My fingers are so broken
And my words have become faded
Seems like everywhere I go
I'm always dehumanized, and degraded.

this is such a pretty poem. I can relate to it completly, I love that you chose this subject to write about. The words were tragic and lovely, the whole piece was a dark image, i really liked it.

I really liked that stance, the dark symbolism really added a tragic effect. good job
