As it seems

Fairy lights twinkling on the doorway,

The glistening door down to the depths of nothing more,
A spiral staircase leads down floors, and still my soul ignores,
The lights, all around,
Shine back down,
And beam back off the ground…

Like brightest flames, they glow,
I twist and turn, every sound, every shadow,
A world so far below,
Respects peace,
Welcomes me,
And secludes my release.

Fairy lights twinkle above the doorway.

A trail of black silk falls down the stair, following my cares,
Cold, crisp and clean, hostile air, streams through my hair…
My eyes show my despair.

Light’s in the darkest night,
I cannot scream, and I know that I can’t fight,
A maze of endless lies,
Real fears,
Wish for tears,
As I drown away the years.

Fairy lights twinkle above the doorway.
