Waste of time

by Mild insomnia   Dec 16, 2004

Even though I tell you that I’m in love with you,
It means nothing when my heart’s oh so blue,
It’s wrapped around a thread, a hope, from the past,
Holding on with all its might, it’s vote should cast,
But I keep disregarding all the words,
That melt into my world,
And make it worse,
Still I will never learn…

That to hold out
For something,
That never was mine,
Is just a waste of my time.
And I’ve no doubts,
That nothing,
Could make it all right,
It’s just a pointless fight.

And I might say that I’m always thinking of you,
When in my mind, I’m somewhere else; somewhere I can chose,
I’m sick of being restricted to the way you make me feel,
I want something that’s new, so it seems real…
So honey here’s the deal…

To hold out
For something,
That never was mine,
Is just a waste of my time.
And I’ve no doubts,
That nothing,
Could make it all right,
It’s just a pointless fight.
