Dear Stranger

by Rona   Dec 17, 2004

I saw pain in your eyes,
The truth began to unfold.
Every breath I took
Seemed to put me on hold.

I could have said I love you,
Just one last time, but you never gave me the chance.
You never saw what I saw or felt what I felt,
Never even gave just one last glance.

My heart stopped beating, I could not think.
I don't know what I'm really feeling
Could you be the one?
But why does it feel like it's killing.

Torn apart inside, I don't know what to do
I want to run after you and say "I love you."
But I was afraid you'd do what you did before,
Run away, just like you did before and after that too.

Well, it has been two years now Dear Stranger.
I've stopped dreaming about you.
I've stopped wasting my time waiting for you,
Because I know that there's nothing to wait for, and that is true.

I've finally slept soundly, dreaming of winter berries in summer nights,
Lilacs floating on the clear stream and blossoms flying in cool winter nights.
I've finally stopped thinking of you, even though I write letters for you
But, this is my last letter to you, the one I thought who was Mr. Right.

Here's a kiss, a kiss you shall never taste.
Here's a warm hug, a warmth you'll never feel.
Goodbye, Dear Stranger, goodbye forever.
I add one last tear in my letter, one that shall never fade never.
