Sweet but Untrue

by Lance Hardy   Dec 21, 2004

The loving embrace
Of a girl is so sweet
But earning one
Is such a hard feat

What is so wrong
With little ole me
Am I not tall enough?
Am I that hard to see?

I try to be perfect
But none of you care
So I try to be different
But it’s still unfair

Sick of monotony
I tried something new
The reward I got
Was sweet but untrue

At first, a kiss
I felt so alive
But dizzy and drunk
It felt strange inside

That next day
I seemed confused
And without a number
I felt kind of used

What a lonely day
And I’m still here
Wondering what she meant
When she came so near
======================
Interesting nights end in interesting ways...sometimes leave you thinking...
=(

Thank you Aken Sol for the suggestion on the last stanza.

I thought it's pretty good. Last stanza is kinda messed up though. Maybe...

    "What a lumely day
    Yet I'm till here
    Wondering what she meant
    When she came so near"

Ah, how ya like them apples? Oh, and the word monotony is sexy.
