When You Died

by AllHailTheHeartbreaker   Dec 23, 2004

When you died today
A part of me died, too.
When you left this world
Your loved ones were with you.

I cried so many tears
On the day you died
But I couldn't bring you back
No matter how hard I tried.

Doctors couldn't help you
You were just too sick to heal
An now that you're gone
Everything seems so unreal.

Oh Ian, I wish I could hold you
And once again touch your arm
But I guess since you're gone
You'll be safe from harm.

God must have known
That you were too good for this Earth
And that you deserved heaven
And what you were worth.

I can't quit picturing the sight
Of your body in the coffin
You looked like you were simply sleeping
But it was an eternal slumber you were in.

You can't hurt anymore, Ian
You're free from all of your pain
Although you fought so long for your life
You were a real trooper to endure such a strain.

You will always have a special place in my heart
And I will never, ever forget you
You changed so many lives
And we all know it's true.

~In Loving Memory of Ian~
~I'll Never Forget You~
~Died: December 20th, 2004~

~Ian was my youth group leader's son, and he was like a brother to me. I will never forget him, and I'll always miss him, but he will live on in my heart until the end of time.~
