RIP Dad

by Bitten by frost   Dec 27, 2004

I choke on the word I love you
i reach for an impossible embrace
i hold my eyes to a tissue
and look for a sign on your face
a smile, a blink
a nod or a wink
anything to know its not real
as an impending doom
fills up the room
words cant describe how i feel

the touch of your hand is freezing
and the stench of death hangs low
good news will never be pleasing
without my daddy to know

but maybe you look down from above us
with your pipe and a pint in your hand
telling each one that you love us
and one day we would understand
that death is a part of living
and one day our time will come
but the sands of time keep sieving
and my day will be sooner the some

RIP
My Father
