I'm an artist

by Mild insomnia   Jan 2, 2005

I’m an artist,
A creative outlet,
Trapped in a box,
That’s flooding with tears.

I’m an artist,
It’s a gift, a talent,
No one else in my family can paint,
They refuse to watch.

I’m an artist,
A lawyer with pencils,
Trained in my own way,
But a black sheep to them.

I’m an artist,
I’ll paint you a world,
Sketch you the stars,
And mould you the sun.
