You're Watching Over Me

by Shædow Poet   Jan 10, 2005

Someone's watching over me,
Blessed am I, for it is you
Above that cloud you sit and stare
You're graciously fixing the wrong I do.

My two left feet will trace the path
Into a safe, friendly place
I won't take a step back into what's gone
But step forward in a quick, steady pace.

The rain pours down, I spill a tear
I cry with you, sadness be ours
We at connected with the mythical pathway
And these clear, watery showers.

My friend, our touch has disintegrated
Sometimes I wake after a dream
I feel your hand caress my face
Yet stroke not your hand, but an old seam.

The scar faded, yet memory's still vibrant
Of that day, where we once were one
I thought you could see that car!
T'was the day fate punished harmless fun.

You still watch over me,
I can hear your whisper whenever I scream
See your shadow, whenever I'm alone
Feel your presence, whenever I dream.

I drew a picture one day,
Of the gateway to wards heaven
With gold, steady gates, and your face
I know I'll see it, but when?

You still keep me safe, protected
The streets we roamed are now mine
Their was both of us, trouble making teens
Now only one soul can shine.

So sit still, up on your cloud
Watch me weep, laugh, and smile
The absence which now is present
I know will one day be worthwhile.

I await the day I decease
And we embrace, friend to friend
Till that day I will enjoy solitary life
Till that day, I will anticipate the end.
