Wartorn - Forlorn

by Nefarius   Jan 11, 2005

Wise the spirits, rotten deeds
Foolish pride all servants leads
Gallows pole - we're marching on
Standing men soon on the run
Circle going round in time
Man not worth more than a dime

In the hiding bush they wait
For regrets it is too late
Whisper in their ear commands
Fight until the bitter end
Silver drops fall from the moon
Down the heads of the platoon

Men of courage, men of steel
Pain brings ev'ry man to kneel
Thunder, lightning, wind and rain
Still the soldiers must remain
Order comes to stay in line
Death is crawling down their spine

Warped the memories of life
Colored pictures twisted dive
Masks of horror fill the air
Standing men feel no despair
Screams explode, the sound of hell
Visions from the darkest spell

"Where shall we meet free again
Not in thunder lightning or in rain
When the hurlyburlies done
When the battle's lost and won
That won't be ere the set of sun
Where's the place? Upon the heath!
There to meet with our death!
By the crushing of the guns
Something wicked this way comes..."
