Silent

by Christina Gomes   Jan 28, 2005

Listen for the silent cries
Deafening to those who hear
Listen to the silent screams
Of those who truly fear

Listen to the silent prayers
Of those who are in need
Listen to the silent shouts
Of those who begin to bleed

Look at the invisible tears
Falling from the crying heart
Look at the invisible blood
Bled by those far apart

Look at the invisible scars
Remained to remind of the past
Look at the invisible slits
That was cut in so fast

Now come into my mind
See things from me
Live life as I do
And show me you can be

Now that you can hear
Now that you can see
Things I kept inside
The things that make me

Tell me what you think
Do you understand?
I fake my smiles because of this
Everyone let go of my hand

Now kept away
Locked in my soul
Crying away the pain
Trying to be whole

I still hide my pain
Still covering up me
Putting on a smile
So the truth they won’t see
