I would never admit to anyone
My deep dark secret.
Afraid of what they may say,
I kept it to myself.

One day, i decided to tell my friend
The truth about myself.
She didn't turn her back to me,
She didn't stare in shock.

She hugged me
And told me that she was there for me
Whenever I needed to talk.

That hug told me
That everything was going to be ok
I would no longer be alone;
She was by my side.

During my ups and downs,

When I needed a friend.
