Forgotten in your shadow,
Lost inside your dream,
Never had my chance to show,
All alone, as it may seem.

Failure fills me as you turn away.
You never encouraged me, keeping astray.
Never good enough to shine for you,
I gave up on your lies, because forever I knew;
Broken promises were nothing in your eyes,
When I needed you; you watched my hope die.
Fallen dreams never said anything to your head.
You pushed away your concern, ignoring all that I said.

Every night I would cry, waiting for your heart-felt love.
Although you say your kids are your gifts from above,
You always looked down and said we are wrong.
Yet, you only think of you; assuming you were a great mom.
