The Girl Nobody Knew

by ♥-Sharon Ardern-♥   Feb 9, 2005

In a village, tiny and out of the way
There was a pub, old but nice
Where a young girl went each day

The locals all were merry, talked a lot
This young girl wasn't sure
If they even noticed her or not

She came in each time with tears
Streaming down her face
This went on for years

She asked for a lemonade, that was all she had
Nobody stopped to ask questions,
Or ask her why she was sad

She just sat in the corner, debating suicide
Each and every day, every single night
She sat in the same seat and cried

And one day she sat in the lane
Just outside this little pub
Trying to ease her pain

She cut too deep with her knife
Scared but somewhat pleased
She'd found an end to her life

When some of the locals found her
They stood shocked, frozen in spot
Slowly they began to surround her

One local man squinted, looking her in the face
And asked the others: 'Do you recognize her?
I've never seen her come to this place.'
