Sad Goodbye

I saw you for the first time
In about four long months
I felt so stupid, like I wore
And tall hat that said DUNCE

I started to shake and shiver
Tears formed in my eyes
I remembered when you left
That was the saddest goodbye

I could not say anything
I could not move or breathe
I just let you walk past
Hoping you wouldn’t see me

Standing there about to cry

I started daydreaming about
What we used to be like
Kissing and holding each other
With you I lived a good life

Watching movies together
Taking long drives in your car
And I remember one time
We sat and watched the stars

You bought me pretty gifts
And played me your guitar
But know across my heart
Is a half bandaged scar

Know you’re long gone
I don’t ever remember why
You just walked right past
To remind me of our sad goodbye
