Don't Uproot What Was Planted

by Aidyn   Feb 23, 2005

No matter what decision in your life
You always think a bit
Of the consequences, the very things
That may happen because of it.

I known a few people through the years
Who've at least thought about
Taking their lives without guilt or grief,
But thankfully, with doubt

It's only common sense, in life
to think about our actions,
but then why, for some, has suicide
Got such a strong attraction?

I can understand why people feel so bad,
though it hasn't happened to me.
But what drives someone to take their life,
I cannot begin to see.

I cannot exactly tell you
How to live a happy life.
But I can give you guidelines that
YOU can use to end your strife.

Life does not always go
Exactly as you desire,
But as bad as it may always seem,
Don't let these sparks cause fires.

If you are never happy, then
You must make it so you are.
With your own support, or with friends,
You can always go quite far.

You cannot wait for happiness
With undying expectation.
One thing I can tell you is
Life doesn't make reservations.

You've got to go and live your life,
And live it for your own.
Let no one push you farther down.
If they do, do not condone.

Life is a very precious thing
Do not take it for granted.
Do not return this special gift
Don't uproot what was planted

So go and live and be and do
Being happy is not a fable
But you must never let your sadness
Ever become fatal.
