In Eyes

by Kaitlin Kristina   Feb 24, 2005

Eyes,
The window of the soul
Tell you all
You could ever know

And yours once spoke
To me
More than your lips
They did hold the sweetness
Of every kiss

Yours once told me
Our love was true
But now as I say
My good bye
To you

They speak of the lies
Like volumes of books
That your eyes did read
And you forgot, by the looks

Your eyes reflected a thousand dreams
That now your tears
Tear apart at the seams
And as they fall
And soak my heart
See in my eyes,
That they say, “Don’t start”

For your eyes were set
Upon another
Another girl,
Not me, your lover,
And they devoured her curves,
While your tongue graced her mouth,
And your body did converge,
As your mind put me out.

Each time I see
Your once pure eyes,
The scene replays,
As your lips spin the lies,
And they are all I know now,
So watch my eyes of blue,
Mean when they say,
Good-bye
To poor you.
