Her angel

by Ash LEIGH   Feb 26, 2005

She put on her ballerina slippers
and tied them up real tight
she loved to dance for anyone
but now, it was going to be a fight

her mother had told her
it's alright
to shed some tears
but told her not to let this bring
all those bottled up fears

she knew he had no reasons
to keep her dancing alive
for her father could not see her
for this he would be deprived.

her father could not see
because he was so far away
for the only way that she could reach him,
was to kneel beside her bed and pray.

she knew how much her daddy loved to see her prance around,
and the way he smiled when he watched
had never made her frown.

she didn't want to continue to dance, being so terribly sad
but tonight she felt like someone was watching,
and then she heard "don't worry, it's just me, dad"
