Chitchat with a Shadow

by Ð맆îñ¥   Feb 27, 2005

I’m with my friends parading the streets
Many gather to watch; the freak show’s in town
And as we walk the hostile ground
Our smiles are an echo of a familiar frown

The lights play havoc with us
Angry shadows follow us round
We are worthless to them, amusement at most
To them shame is all that we could have found

And as we hear jeers, and as we hear jibes
We stand as one, held together by the darkness
We talk to our shadows, our only company
They stare at the beings they consider aimless

We try to ignore the repulsive faces
Treading full streets so empty of souls
We walk; it’s all we can do
Looking at a world so full of holes

Fifteen years, born unique
Tortured for eternity for being me
Why do you reject me?
Accept me for who I am, that’s my plea

    thanks for the comment:)

And i don't think you should remove it but sad would be a better category. Anyhow, i like the reaction to it...whats wrong w/ a good sad poem-i understand how you feel but be proud of differences, we have no more room for followers

    God bless
    Love Heather.
